It has been suggested that we introduce some new awards to recognise the achievements of players and volunteers during our league season and that they are presented at the annual presentation evening. These will be in addition to the annual Harry Davies Sportsmanship Award and Harold Glover Services to tennis award which are more of a lifetime award, nominations for these awards should be sent in within the next couple of weeks. The following new awards have been proposed -

Winners would be expected to attend the annual presentation evening but this is not compulsory, Thanks in anticipation, Jamie Semple (Chair Liverpool and District tennis league) In the semi finals of the Brockbank, Palmerston defeated Bohemians and Campion defeated Rainford.
The final will be played on September 7th at Palmerston. Start time is 2pm. We have now uploaded this to the LTA site and matches kick off on Saturday September 7th. The honours staging the first ever games fall to Formby 1 who take on Blundellsands 1 and Palmerston 3 who are in action against Eccleston Park 2 both with a 12 noon start.
On Sunday 8th teams from Mersey Bowmen, Liverpool Cricket Club, East Wavertree, Mossley Hill and Waterloo begin their campaign with Campion getting under way the following week. Scoring is 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 1 bonus point per rubber won. This will also be the first time we have used online reporting of results and you can catch up to date tables plus check out who’s been in action in each match! This is an exciting time for Liverpool Tennis Clubs in that the match season now runs 9 months each year!
